Blandings Castle is a novel that is a collection of short stories by Wodehouse. It starts with how the walls of Blandings Castle have been covered with ivy, and seem to glow with every passing story in this novel. The ninth earl of Emsworth, Clarence, has been introduced to the readers at this point. The rolling parkland is now filled with snakes that are poised to nip the Earl when he least expects it. The summer fete is another problem that must be dealt with at the castle. These events are suddenly interrupted when a headstrong little girl arrives from London, and the custody of this little child is an issue that must now be dealt with.
